Some weddings stay with you forever, and this was one of them. Photographing Pete and Laura's wedding at Rêve Retreat, a beautiful glamping venue in Limoges in the South of France, was an absolute dream. I'll always be grateful that fate brought us together.
Pete and Laura first got in touch after Gemma at Rêve Retreat shared my portfolio with them. They later told me they felt fate had brought me their way, which was such a lovely thing to hear and made this wedding feel even more special from the very beginning.
This was far from a traditional wedding. Their friends and family thought they were travelling to France for a festival-themed joint birthday celebration, with no idea they were actually attending a wedding.
Pete and Laura kept the secret until the day before the ceremony, revealing the exciting news with a banner. They asked me to capture their guests' reactions, and the surprise, excitement and emotion that followed made for some truly unforgettable moments.
The next day, they exchanged vows beneath a tree in the wildflower meadow at Rêve Retreat, surrounded by the people they love most. As the sun set over the French countryside, everyone celebrated in the beautifully converted barn, with friends taking turns behind the DJ decks and the dance floor packed all night long.
It was such a privilege to document every part of this incredible destination wedding in the South of France. Pete and Laura, along with all of their family and friends, made us feel so welcome that we genuinely felt more like guests than suppliers.
